When was the last time you did something that was both deeply practical and deeply fulfilling?
This is the type of experience that students describe finding at the Kodály Summer Graduate Music Program at Silver Lake College (SLC).
The Kodály Approach to music education is about a sequential method of learning that develops musicianship skills and pedagogical skills in oneself and others.
But more importantly, it’s about human connection, joy and beauty, and music as a fundamental necessity of a rich human life.
The summer master’s program here at SLC offers a progressive and unique education in music and what it can mean in the lives of the children you teach and encounter. In an increasingly technological and isolated society, the experience of physical, human connection through dancing, singing, clapping, and moving to music is a beautiful thing to learn for yourself and to teach to others.
