Silver Lake College announces 2014-15 Artist Music Series

A variety of world-class musical artists, including several featuring international accolades, will be coming to the Lakeshore as part of Silver Lake College’s 2014-15 Artist Music Series.

The five concerts will be held in Endries Hall at the new Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, located on campus at 2406 S. Alverno Road.

Season tickets are $80. Individual concert ticket prices are: $18 adults, $12 seniors (65 and older), $5 children ages 13-18, $2.50 children ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and younger. Tickets will be available starting May 29 by visiting the Capitol...

Silver Lake College Hosts Junior Visit Day on May 17

Silver Lake College will host a Junior Visit Day for all interested high school juniors on May 17. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., and the event will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will be held in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance.

Students will sit in on classes, tour the campus and eat lunch together. There also will be a panel discussion available for parents.

Wisconsin Rapids' Paltz signs letter of intent with Silver Lake College

Joshua Paltz, a 6-foot-1 guard from Wisconsin Rapids Assumption High School, signed a letter of intent to attend Silver Lake College and play for the men’s basketball team.

Paltz was named second-team All-Marawood South Conference his junior and senior years.

“Josh brings leadership both on and off of the court and has a great enthusiasm for the game,” said Phil Budervic, Silver Lake College head men’s basketball coach. “He comes from a good program and has a great work ethic. We are very happy to have Josh as part of our program.”

Silver Lake College Announces New Head Coaches for Volleyball, Cross Country

Silver Lake College is pleased to announce the hiring of Tara Stewart as its head women’s volleyball coach, and Mike Cavanaugh as its head men’s and women’s cross country coach.

Stewart, 36, is a full-time student at Silver Lake College, where she’s majoring in psychology and minoring in family services.

A mouthwatering meal and a murder mystery will share center stage when the Silver Lake College Alumni Association presents “Death is a Cabernet, Ol’ Chum.”

The Murder Mystery Dinner event is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, in the dining room on campus, which is located at 2406 S. Alverno Road.
