MANITOWOC, Wis. — The Omega Beta Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) national biological honor society held its membership induction ceremony on Thursday, April 26 at Silver lake College of the Holy Family.
The following SLC students were inducted: Chadia Igiraneza, Esmeralda Garcia, Carla Martinez Morant and Elyse Schimelpfenig.
Adjunct faculty William Bryan, chemistry professor, and Setareh Khalili, biology professor, were inducted as graduate members.“I am very excited with the current developments within the organization,” said Dr. Danielle McKeithen, SLC biology and natural sciences department chair. “This year alone we have seen a rise in membership, started operating concessions during home games, and hosted a movie and panel discussion. Our future looks bright and promising, and I am excited to see where this group of students takes our organization.”
Beta Beta Beta is an honor society for students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 200,000 people have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 620 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
