MANITOWOC, Wis. -- Bishop Robert Morneau, who served as auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay for 34 years, will be guest speaker at Silver Lake College's next Father Bill Zimmer Forum.
The book group, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, in the Endries Family Heritage Room at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road. The event is presented by Silver Lake College in collaboration with St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
Books he will focus on include “Resisting Happiness” by Matthew Kelly and “Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion” by Father Greg Boyle.
Bishop Morneau is currently pastor at Resurrection Parish in Green Bay. Not only is he a teacher, pastor and leader in the Green Bay Diocese, he also is an author and poet. Among his works are: “The Color of Gratitude,” “A Splash of Sunshine,” “Notes of Thanksgiving,” and “Embracing a Generous Life.”
Ordained a priest for the Diocese of Green Bay in 1966, Bishop Morneau taught at Silver Lake College from 1966-1978. He was awarded an honorary degree from Silver Lake College in 2014.
