Father Bill Zimmer Forum Schedule announced

Silver Lake College, in collaboration with St. Francis of Assisi parish, announces the following schedule for the 2016-17 Father Bill Zimmer Forum.

The book group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. in the Endries Family Heritage Room, located on the second floor of the main building on Silver Lake College’s campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road. The forum is free and open to the public.

This year’s schedule includes:

Sept. 13: The Most Rev. Robert Morneau, bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Green Bay and pastor of Resurrection Church in Green Bay, will discuss Father Raniero Cantalamessa’s book, “The Gaze of Mercy.”

Oct. 11: Tom Tomaszerski, deacon candidate, will discuss Jim Auchmutey’s book, “The Class of 1965.”

Nov. 8: Jessica Van Slooten, Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc associate professor of English and gender sexuality in women studies and University of Wisconsin Colleges gender equality coodinator, will discuss L.M. Montgomery’s book, “Anne of Green Gables.”

Dec. 13: Nate Lowe, associate professor of writing and chairman of the creative arts division at Lakeland College, will discuss Mark Spragg’s book, “Where Rivers Change Direction.”

Feb. 14: Kathie Tilot, programming director of Norbertine Spirituality Center, will discuss Wayne Muller’s book, “A Life of Being, Having, and Doing Enough.”

March 14: Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc, will discuss Brian Christopher Coulter’s book, “Be Holy.”

April 11: Kathryn Kuhn, director of ministries at Cedar Community in West Bend, will discuss Atul Gawande’s book, “Being Mortal.”
