How to keep seeing SLC stories on Facebook

We want to ensure you keep receiving news from Silver Lake College on your Facebook feed. Facebook recently announced that it will cut back the number of posts you see from news sources, businesses and organizations in favor of posts from family and friends.

There’s an easy way to keep Silver Lake College in the mix. Please follow these instructions to control what you see and help keep Silver Lake College on your Facebook feed. Thank you!

From your desktop computer

  1. Go to your Facebook news feed, select the dropdown arrow in the top right-hand corner of the page.
  2. Click on “News Feed Preferences.”
  3. Click on “Prioritize who to see first.”
  4. From the list of pages and people you like on Facebook, click on Silver Lake College to give priority to our posts. Once you make your selection, the page will be marked with a blue star.
  5. Click on “Done” at the bottom right-hand side of the page.

 On your iPhone

  1. Open the Facebook app on your iPhone.
  2. Click on the three lines in the bottom right-hand corner.
  3. Scroll down and click on “Settings.” 
  4. Click on “News Feed Preferences.”
  5. Click on “Prioritize who to see first.” 
  6. From the lists of pages and people you like on Facebook, click on Silver Lake College to give priority to our posts. Once you make your selection, the page will be marked with a blue star.
  7. Select “Done” in the top right-hand corner. 

 On your Android phone

  1. Open the Facebook app on your Android phone.
  2. Click on the three-line menu in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Scroll down and click on “News Feed Preferences.”
  4. Click on “Prioritize who to see first.”
  5. From the lists of pages and people you like on Facebook, click on Silver Lake College to give priority to our posts. Once you make your selection, the page will be marked with a blue star.
  6. Click on “Done” or exit the program.
