Lola Roeh is first CEO Breakfast Series speaker

LRoeh.jpgMANITOWOC, Wis. — Silver Lake College’s third President’s CEO Breakfast Series will begin on Jan. 25 with guest speaker Lola Roeh, general manager of the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake,
Wisconsin. She will speak about “Managing the Business — When Your Product is The Experience.”

Roeh was recently appointed to the board of directors of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, a major honor in her career.

During her tenure at the Osthoff, the resort earned the AAA Four Diamond Resort rating each year, expanded its conference space, and opened its 20,000-square-foot Aspira Spa, a 100-seat restaurant, lobby lounge and cooking school. The resort also has received numerous honors, including an award as one of the 2013 World’s Best Resorts in the Continental U.S. and as one of the Top 500 Hotels and Resorts in the World in 2014, both from Travel + Leisure magazine.

Roeh brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, which included The American Club and the Kohler Design Center, both in Kohler, Wisconsin. Roeh also is active in hospitality industry associations and she was honored with the 2014 Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s Legacy Award.

Check-in is at 7:15 a.m. Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. The program concludes at 8:30 a.m.  Tickets are $100 for the series of four or $30 each. For tickets, visit sl.edu/tickets.

The program also offers opportunities to provide leadership development for those in the early years of their careers who often have tight budgets or work for not-for-profit organizations. The cost is just $95 and includes all four sessions. Silver Lake College will collaborate with local businesses and not-for-profits to select these recipients. Sponsors will have a chance to personally meet the young professional they have sponsored and sponsors or sponsoring businesses will be recognized on the event program and in slides shown during registration.

The line-up of programs also includes:

  • Glen E. Tellock, president and CEO of Lakeside Foods Inc., Manitowoc, Wisconsin, will speak about “Demands of Public Versus Private Ownership” on Feb. 15.
  • Ben Harrison, CEO of Kaysun Corp. of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, will speak about “Corporate Wellness” on March 29.  
  • Tim Schaefer, executive vice president of client and digital experience at Northwestern Mutual, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a Silver Lake College alumnus, will speak about “Leading Large Scale Change” on May 2.
