Silver Lake College offers Life Drawing Class

Life_Drawing_Class_image_web.jpgSilver Lake College will offer a 16-week life drawing class as part of its fall semester, beginning Aug. 23, from 6-8:30 p.m. in Room 107, located in the main building on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

Non-degree seeking students are welcome to participate in the entire class for a cost of $120. The registration deadline is Aug. 18.

The public is invited to participate in the Tuesday, Sept. 13, Oct. 4, Oct. 18, Nov. 8 and Dec. 6 sessions of the class. Cost is $15 per session. No pre-registration is necessary; payment will be collected at the time of class. Artists of all skill levels are welcome. Participants should bring their own drawing supplies or purchase some at the sessions. Nude models will be present.

Leading the sessions will be David Carpenter, Silver Lake College adjunct art faculty member, who received his Bachelor of Arts degree in fine art with a concentration in painting and drawing from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind. He graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art in New York City and currently also serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and teaches at the Denmark Academy. Carpenter will be available to participants for instruction.
