Silver Lake College to hold Spring Instrumental Concert on April 22

Silver Lake College will hold its Spring Instrumental Concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 22.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held in Endries Hall, located on campus at the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, 2406 S. Alverno Road, Manitowoc.

Performing groups include the Silver Lake Jazz Ensemble, Silver Lake Handbell Ensemble and Silver Lake Wind Ensemble.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform jazz standards such as “Whirly Bird” and music from “Golden Boy.” Vocalists include Molly Hahn and Tyler Jensen.

The Handbell Ensemble will perform “My Life Flows On in Endless Song,” “Celtic Farewell,” “I Will Lift Mine Eyes Unto the Hills,” “Prelude” and “Amazing Grace.” Featured vocalists/instrumentalists include Christopher Guy, Emily Laurin, Bob Kleckner, Tammy Reigel, Katherine Sohn, Paige Owen and Hahn.

The Wind Ensemble’s theme is “Creatures.” The repertoire includes “The Swan on the Hill,” “Funiculi, Funicula,” “Riverside Characters” and “Of Sailors and Whales.”  

Admission is $5. Tickets will be available at the door.
