Sister Kathy Warren to speak on peacemaking

Sister Kathy Warren, a member of the Rochester, Minn., Franciscans, will address “Acquiring a New Worldview: A Movement Toward Peacemaking” from 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 30 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance at Silver Lake College.

Her presentation is free and open to the public.

This celebration of Franciscan values will focus on the Franciscan heritage through the life of St. Francis of Assisi and will help identify elements of a movement toward peacemaking at all levels of our lives.

Sister Kathy is author of “Daring to Cross the Threshold: Francis of Assisi Encounters Sultan Malek al-Kamil” (2003) and co-producer of the two-part DVD, “In the Footprints of Francis and the Sultan: A Model for Peacemaking.” (2012). She holds a Doctorate of Ministry degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation, South Bend, Ind.

She is co-director of her congregational Franciscan Life in Mission Office, serves on the staff of the Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs and engages in retreats and enrichment opportunities which focus on the Franciscan charism.
