Silver Lake College Music Department presents Faculty Vocal Recital on Oct. 24

The Silver Lake College Department of Music invites the public to its free Faculty Vocal Recital with guest artist Dr. Jessica Paul at 3 p.m. Oct. 24 in Endries Hall of the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

Dr. Paul, collaborative pianist and vocal coach, is Professor of Music at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Singers will be soprano Emily Davis, who recently completed her Master of Music in Vocal Performance degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and Dr. Rachel Ware Carlton, also a soprano, and Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Music and Assistant Professor of Voice at Silver Lake College.

The program will feature works by French composer Charles Gounod, German composer Robert Schumann, Italian composter Stefano Donaudy, English composer William Walton, German-American composer André Previn, and Russian composer Igor Stravinsky.

The public also is welcome to the Vocal Master Class with Dr. Jessica Paul at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance at Silver Lake College. There is no charge for admission.

The program will feature music students performing works from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, George Frideric Handel and Ludwig van Beethoven, among other composers.
