SLC presents instrumental concert on April 24

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Silver Lake College of the Holy Family will present its Spring Instrumental Concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

Featured groups include the Silver Lake Wind Ensemble, Silver Lake Handbell Ensemble and the Silver Lake Jazz Ensemble.The concert is under the direction of Dr. James Ackman, assistant professor of instrumental music and director of instrumental activities, and Sandy Eithun, adjunct music faculty and director of the handbell ensemble.

The theme of the concert, “American as Apple Pie,” is reflected in the musical numbers including everything from the lively “The Maple Leaf Rag” by Scott Joplin to the love ballad, “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” by Don Gibson to the traditional hymn, “How Great Thou Art/Majesty.”
