MANITOWOC, Wis. — The Silver Lake College music department will present the Steinbrecher-Mayer Honors Recital at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29.
The student recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on the campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.
The program will feature music by composers including Pytor I. Tchaikovsky, George Frideric Handel and Franz Schubert.
The Steinbrecher-Mayer Honors Recital is performed in honor of Sister Francis Henry Steinbrecher and Sister Mary Aloyse Mayer, two influential figures in the early history of the undergraduate music program at Silver Lake College.
Students are selected by the applied faculty based on their performance/professionalism in applied lessons and performance classes.
Featured musicians include: Benjamin Karnitz, euphonium and piano; Young Moua, tenor; Dawn Welling, soprano; Noah Liermann, piano; Lydia Matthews, piano; Theresa Nier, soprano; Brad Fahley, baritone; Meg Lehman, soprano; Christopher Ducasse, baritone and piano; Hanna Stolper, piano; Alysson Wasmer, trumpet; and Michael Stearns, xylophone.
