SLC presents student recital on March 9

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Silver Lake College will present the student recital of Hanna Stolper on piano and Benjamin Karnitz on euphonium at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 9 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road. 

The recital is free and open to the public. The program will feature pieces by composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert.

Stolper is a sophomore studying piano performance and pedagogy. She has performed with the Silver Lake Chorale, Silver Lake Jazz Ensemble and Silver Lake Wind Ensemble. Stolper also has played in numerous church praise bands. She plans to continue her education at Silver Lake College to improve her technique as a performer.

Karnitz is a sophomore studying instrumental performance and pedagogy with an emphasis in euphonium. He has been active in community bands and orchestras. He previously studied with Dr. Benjamin Yates and currently studies under Dr. Dylan Chmura-Moore. After graduation, Karnitz plans to earn a master’s degree in euphonium performance.

Dr. Stanislava Varshavski of the music faculty will provide piano accompaniment.
