SLC to host Banned Books Read-Out

Posted On September 09, 2014

A Banned Books Read-Out event is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Zigmunt Library, located at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of Banned Books Week for the American Library Association.

As part of the Read-Out, information will be shared about Banned Books Week and why certain books have been banned. That will be followed by people reading excerpts from some of those banned books. People interested in reading a passage are asked to fill out information on a sign-up sheet located in the library. Participants may read from a library book or their own materials.

Refreshments will be served.
