Students, faculty honored at awards ceremony

Silver Lake College honored students and faculy at its annual Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2016.

  • Laker Athletic Awards honorees included:

United States Collegiate Athletic Association Student Athlete of the Year: Amanda Kudick

United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American Second Team: Raelyn Woock

United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American Honorable Mention: Amanda Kudick, and Densel Smith

United States Collegiate Athletic Association National All-Academic Team: Jordan Barbeau, Danielle Byrum, Danelle Buck, Courtney Clavers, Abby Gerhard, Amanda Kudick, and Marissa Senglaub

Coaches Awards: Austin Allen-Walker (men’s basketball), Danelle Buck (women’s basketball), Danielle Byrum (volleyball), Wesley Dowell (soccer), and Ashley Joosten (cross country)

Most Improved Players: Casey Bingmon (volleyball), Nathan Eckley (golf), Allan Jaeger (soccer), Hailee Kotche (women’s basketball), Ashley Rumlow (women’s basketball), and Elijah Stonebraker (cross country).

Most Valuable Players: Kaela Cheesman (volleyball), Amanda Kudick (women’s basketball), Matalie Koss (cross country), Joel Mejia (soccer), Densel Smith (men’s basketball) and Raelyn Woock (women’s basketball)

Senior athletes honored with framed photographs: Dru Harris, Wesley Dowell, Christopher Jason, Megan Mendolla and Kaela Cheesman.

Commemorative basketball: Women’s head basketball coach Michael Flentje and assistant women’s basketball coach Michael Quistorf presented Dr. Chris Domes, President of the College, with a team-autographed basketball from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's 2016 Basketball National Championship Uniontown, Penn.

  • Academic Honors Scholarships were presented to:

 Mother Generose Cahill Honors Scholarship: Emma Knickelbine

 Sister Orestes Kohlbeck Honors Scholarship: Shannon DeGrave

 Founder’s Honors Scholarship: Anna Newton and Nancy Sanchez 

 Trustee Honors Scholarship: Victoria Bond, Tori Jonet, and Noah Liermann

  •  Wisconsin Visual Artist’s Awards were presented to:

The Northeast Wisconsin chapter of the Wisconsin Visual Artists outstanding student artists: Dru Harris and Quinn MacIsaac

  • The Tri Beta Honor Society recognitions were presented to:

Graduation honor cords: Misty Bowe, Thao King, and Raelyn Woock

  •  Freddy Awards were presented to:

Individuals who foster the Franciscan spirit of community within and beyond the college campus: Students Alex Brendemuehl, Courtney Clavers, Thao King and Amanda Kudick; and faculty member Dr. Michaeleen Golay
