Erin LaBonte will speak about “Nude vs. Naked, the Figure in Art,” at Silver Lake College’s next Faculty Colloquial Series starting at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 2.

The colloquial will take place in the Endries Family Heritage Room, located in the main building on campus at 2406 S. Alverno Road. The 30-minute presentation is free and open to the public.

“I will be speaking on the importance of the human figure as subject matter in art history and contemporary art making, specifically the naked/nude figure,” LaBonte said.

“I will be discussing the importance of life drawing for students and sharing an upcoming opportunity for students, the Silver Lake College community and larger community to attend life-drawing sessions on campus with guest artist and instructor, David Carpenter,” she said. “I will also draw on the language of nude vs. naked, and the spectator's role in viewing a work of art.”
